With the return of Spring here in Milwaukee, it is the perfect time for some sweet lemonade. This gave us the inspiration for a Shandy recipe using our craft beer just in time to enjoy in the warmer weather.

When I started experimenting with Shandy recipes, it was clear that there couldn't be just one recipe. I went to some Sprecher employees to get their personal Sprecher Shandy recipe style! Still lemonades were featured for these recipes but if you’re looking for a more bubbly beverage, feel free to use our sparkling options. The Original flavor lemonade was used for all three of the recipes to keep things consistent, but you can play around with the other lemonade flavors. We quickly found out that there couldn’t be one Sprecher Shandy recipe because you can base them on your personal preference.

Sprecher Shandy Recipe: Greg's Style

The first Sprecher Shandy recipe is Greg, our Director of Brewing and Quality's favorite mix. He took one of our most popular brews Special Amber and mixed it with the the original still lemonade. Greg said that the floral and fruity notes in the Amber complement the tangy lemonade flavors well. He's the expert, so we'll take his word on the best combination!

6 oz Special Amber

6 oz Original Lemonade

Sprecher Shandy Recipe: Lauren's Style

After trying a few versions of the Sprecher Shandy, I decided that mixing the Original Lemonade with Hefe Weiss was the best tasting to me. I am not the biggest beer drinker so Hefe Weiss is a great light option and the banana notes combine well with the lemonade flavor.
