We decided to enter quite a
few of our beers into the increasingly prestigious L.A.
County Fair, and the judges responded with a resounding
verdict in favor of the taste of Milwaukee's original
micro-brewery. Here are the Medals:

2004 Wisconsin
Manufacturer of The Year Special Award for Quality and Tradition
Special Awards are presented to companies for achieving
excellence in any one area, honoring the unique values these Wisconsin-based
manufacturers exemplify. This award for Quality and Tradition acknowledges
our ongoing effort to stay true to the brewing craft and produce
products not only high in quality and rich in flavor, but also
which carry on in the same traditions that inspired them in the
first place. |

Milwaukee’s
Original Microbrewery,
Sprecher Brewery,
took top honors at the 2004 Great American Beer Festival® in
Denver, Colorado.
The 23rd anniversary of the GABF was also the largest ever, with 398 national
breweries and brewpubs offering more than 2000 beers in competition
for the most prestigious awards in the brewing industry.
Sprecher Brewery won several awards, which will probably
come as no surprise to its many loyal fans. Out of 102 entries
for Small Brewing Company of the Year, Sprecher won:
2004 Small Brewing Company
of the Year
2004 Small Brewing Company of the Year Brewmaster (Craig Burge)
2004 Gold Medals
Sprecher won gold medals for two of its beers in
the 2004 competition:
Oktoberfest – took
top honors out of 52 entries in the German-style/Oktoberfest
category
Scotch Ale – took
top honors out of 23 entries in the 2004 Scotch Ale category
2004 Bronze Medal
Sprecher won a bronze medal for one beer in the
2004 competition:
Mai Bock– garnered
a bronze medal out of 15 entries in the Bock category
